Humanity's carbon budget is shrinking. Every company has a role to play in slowing atmospheric warming. But how can an organization quantify its reduction targets to align with the Paris Agreement?
Measuring and quantifying targets, in accordance with science
The Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI) is a global business decarbonization initiative, whose targets are based on science and the Paris Agreement, namely the reduction of global emissions allowing us to collectively limit global warming to 1.5 - 2 degrees Celsius.
At I-GES, after completing your Carbon Assessment, you'll know your most significant emissions sources, the ones you need to take action on. At this stage, our team can assist you in developing a Reduction Plan. Our team can propose reduction targets based on science and the Paris Agreement, with quantified objectives (kg or tons of CO2 equivalent, reduction percentage, etc.) for each emission source.

There are four steps to take:
Carry out your organization's carbon assessment, with the tool and support of I-GES.
Set reduction goals that will guide you
Write a Reduction Plan with the aim of achieving these set objectives
Move forward, track progress and communicate your successes
WHY go in this direction?
More and more clients such as banks, governments, the European Union and large companies are demanding that their suppliers report on the actions taken by the company to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.
Carrying out an SBTI approach allows you to:
Demonstrate commitment to social and environmental responsibilities
Demonstrate confidence in science
Stand out from the competition
Communicate your successes with transparency
Improve your company's reputation and confirm its credibility
